| The quality of the network has a major impact on the quality of
streaming media. At PlayStream, we recognize that it is not enough to simply
distribute media across multiple data centers, but that each data center has a
dynamically adjusting routing table (as opposed to a static or fixed routing
table that never changes) that distributes data across as many carriers as
possible. Utilizing our relationship with Internap, PlayStream is able to place
your media within their major data centers for distribution across nine major
carriers. This relationship allows PlayStream to deliver your data across the
optimal carrier depending on the constantly changing traffic conditions at the
time of your user’s request. The result is a significant improvement in the
quality of the streaming for your customers. The graphics below show the
network maps for each of the six Internet carriers that we use. These carriers
are Global Crossing, Level3, AT&T, UUNet (Worldcom), Sprint, and Cable &
Wireless (Savvis). |
